Solid State Drive.

Basically think of a big thumb drive but I don't think they work the same, SSDs don't use FlASH RAM.

not too hot, get the NVidia Tesla if you want some serious computing power

www.nvidia.com/en-us/data-center/dgx-station/

runs Linux and Windows & comes in desktop package (or 1U server if you really serious)

Poor Relative just get a Macbook they are bloody fast and you don't need to stuff around building one. Macs also don't get Virus which helps.

Pfft. This is the real stuff

Yeah, the SSD tech is very cool. Can anyone comment on the reliability of said drives? Certainly flash drives are the new version of floppy disks.

I have built my last two machines and already "rate my build" for this one on Whirlpool.
I have a real good friend who can source parts for me at cost, i generally give him my old gear as his profit.

This is my build thus far. Its a bit of a beast and i plan to OC as much as i can and get back into some serious gaming.
Still unsure of a decent PSU tho and contemplating a case.

CPU – intel core i7 920
CPU HSF - Noctua NH-U12P (for Socket LGA1366) Performance CPU Cooler
MoBo – Asus P6T
GPU – 2 x 1GB GTX 275 SLI
RAM – Corsair 6GB (3 x 2048mb) DDR3 1600 Dominator (PC12800 - TR3X6G1600C8D) RAM Module Kit (TRIPLE PACK for i7)
HDD1 – Corsair CMFSSD-64N1 2.5" 64GB SATA II Internal Solid state disk (OS)
HDD2 – Western Digital caviar black 640GB (Progs)
HDD3 – Western Digital caviar black 1 TB (Data)
PSU – Thermaltake Toughpower 750W/1000w or Antec Signature 850W
CASE – Lain li p60 or p80
SOUNDCARD – ASUS Xonar D2/PM Ultra Fidelity 7.1
OPTICAL DRIVE – 2 x ASUS DRW-2014L1

Speakers Logitech 5500 or i might go with a cheap amp and cheap speakers using headphones for games.
