The new flavours are interesting

Caesar salad
BBQ Coat of Arms
Late Night Kebab
and what is that last one?

but anyway I think the competition is weird.

The 4 finalists are not being judged on their creative flavour they came up with, but rather Smith's execution of that idea. The Caesar salad sounds nice but just tastes like lettuce to me. No dressing and parmesan and bacon bits flavour, just lettuce and a hint of mayo. Who'd buy lettuce flavoured chips ????

I feel sorry for the girl who came up with the Caesar salad flavour.... good idea but Smiths rooted it and she'll lose.

i was tempted to buy that flavour at the supermarket checkout tonight mark,

but i thought it would taste like artificial crap and besides, i don't buy chips.

i'm going to buy a pack tomorrow. report coming!

the buttered popcorn sounds nice.

I think that's the idea...only to be eaten from 2-5am, smashed, then throw them up later and wake up sometime the following avo with a taste in your mouth like a ferret's taken a dump there!

Why don't they do a twin pack, one is beer and then the other kebab one is to be eaten after the beer? Then the vomit would be more realistic.........

I watched my work colleague type an email to Smith's in Jaunary complaining that they'd removed the Tomato Sauce flavour, please bring it back and that perhaps they should have a competition to decide some new flavours.

They sent him a packet of tom. sauce chips.

The girlfriend bought all 4 so we could do a bit of a taste comparison and we came up with the following:

Kebab - Nasty, tasted like anus.
Popcorn - good but a bit full on and couldn't eat more than a couple of chips
Coat of arms bbq - kinda ok but still pretty rank, not much different to normal bbq
Ceaser - Really nasty chemical flavour.

All in all none of the would be a chip I'de buy again. big fail.

That woudl be right! Happy to take his idea with no reward.

My mates entered a marketing competition in the late 90's when they were in uni. Came up with a whole bunch of different flavours for a ficticious food company, complete with very very clever slogan and marketing campaign. They won $5K shared between 4 people.
An australian (major) food company then picked it up and ran with it, would have literally made a hundred million just off that special / limited product line over a few months.
My mates got nil, not even an acknowledgement it was their idea.

They could even put in a free plastic toy like cereal packets.

Unwanted pregnancy figurine?
Broken jaw and black eye figurine?
Angry taxi driver screaming "get out" in Farsi?

walkers used to produce hedgehog flavoured crisps, and also my personal favourite, cajun squirrel.

hedgehog was okay, until i had a bad experience with one pack, i think someone must have spiked my bag, but squirrel was great, had a real bite to them.

Have you tried the Jelly Belly BeanBoozled sweets/lollies? They have about 8 colours but each colour could be a nice or nasty flavour. A yellow one would be either banana or vomit. The nasty ones are pretty disgusting!

Worth a go if you can find them but only with mates!

Yep, it's a worry that there are people in this thread that know what anus and ferret droppings taste like.

When I was in pommieland last they had these flavours..

Walkers has picked the six winners from the one million entries it received to its ‘Do us a flavour' competition. And the winners are - Fish & Chips, Onion Bhaji, Chocolate & Chilli, Crispy Duck & Hoi Sin, Builder's Breakfast and Cajun Squirrel.

I had the builder's breakfast, tasted ok, bit like BBQ. Nothing special tho. Nothing will ever beat salt n vinegar!

Just spent 4 months in India with no meat. Returning in 4 days. Order of business is:
1. Meat Pie at airport
2. S&V chips out of a pink packet on way home
3. Once home, several kilos of thick cut Bacon from local butcher, prepared various ways.

Then I will be

I'm glad I am not the only person who thinks all of thoe new flavours are nasty...

Kebab is the best imho but I'm glad I didn't get the same taste as one of the previous posters!

Ha ha Mark

No, my nickname was coined long before that. Although I do have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with my surname
