So now most of us in this chat are aware that the Ningaloo pastoral coast is run with tourism as the primary income . Why they run goats ? The reasong are two fold. Firstly they have to maintain stock to keep in accordance with the terms and conditions of a pastoral lease. Whilst once declared vermin (1976 ag dept) are now an acceptable form of income that is protected by legislation. I would suggest to these people undertaking goat farming on the Ningaloo coast too have s good think about the damage they cause to the market price they get for them. Then count the growing number of tourism bums on seats on our coastline. Landholders it's time to think
What evidence do you have that they are "running goats"? There are wild goats all over this state, in quite large numbers in places. There are also foxes, rabbits, cats, dogs, etc, etc. Do you have the same problem with people down south "running rabbits" on their farms in the cape-to-cape area? Is it their responsibility?
It'd be pretty hard to eradicate goats, and wouldn't bring much monetary value I would think (if any. In fact I'd think it'd be a big cost to employ professional shooters). And what does a leaseholder do? If they rid their property, within months goats from neighbouring properties will invade.
Why do we need "Part 2"
Did'nt you like the replies in you're first post?

"stick to the facts", you just need to get the fundamentals of your case in order before we can attempt to have a half decent discussion on the topic.
Quick question...anyone here bagged themselves a goat while around the RB Gnaraloo area?
Been tempted so many times, especially when we ran out of food ![]()
Goat curry....nom nom nom nom
Hahaha. We had this one goat that kept breaking into our shack/hutt and ****ing our 5hit up...we build barriers and all but the bastard still got in. I was VERY tempted to slot it and cook it up. I was sick of eating fish by that point in the trip.
My mate had a knife at the ready and that look in his eyes...he is a Saffer after all ![]()
Maybe next time I'm up there I will. I've even most other land animals on this continent...why not a goat?
^^ Hind leg is best, wrap it in alfoil and dig a hole put the leg in, put some sand over the top and then build a fire (KLF) over the top of it and cook for a couple of hours. If we had of had fish with it as well that would have been awesome but we were inland so it wasnt an option.
I've already been. Had to come in because there's live rugby on all day.![]()
Oh and these taste even better, especially when they're fresh.
Photo is from 2006 when I was a scrawny, pale, non surfing little girl.
Yeah, but has an almost spice like tingle to the taste...and it's super oily.
We ate a few snakes too, but yeah, they just taste like chicken. Shot a camel and cut some steaks off him too. Wasn't too bad.
One of the Abo guys I was with bagged a massive bush turkey. Didn't even know the thing existed until he spotted it and blew it away. Tasted like...well...chicken...durp
Poor thing had a young chick with it though...we didn't see it until after. ![]()
Aww shucks it's nice to be missed but I was out enjoying a nice lunch and a cheeky 2007 cab merlot with some friends.
I've done my best to educate you my little green friend but the fundamentals you keep getting wrong is basic geography, nothing more.
And for the record I have no association with pastoral lessees, production of any farmed animal or down stream processing. I'm a wee government employee who has many interests and hobbies, one quite high on the list is getting my high powered rifle out and killing vermin on farming/pastoral land.
But for now I'm done on this topic, we are going around in circles.
