He has pledged to give away half his wealth to same charity as Buffett and Gates. What a great Australian!
Really! I am changing my name to Same Charity...... can you let him know? And i am not greedy will take only 1/4 !![]()
interesting letter, I will be interested to see over time ,where the majority of his wealth goes.
having worked for him many years ago , I found the letter rather out of character, but maybe he's changed![]()
rather vague on grammatic detail and authentificion too

what a load of complete crap. The letter is more a motherhood statement than a committment to actually do anything. Unfortunately twiggy has serious form in saying one thing and doing the opposite. Maybe you missed the sorry saga of twiggy and gina bleating about having to pay tax on the billions they were making either digging up australias natural resources, or in ginas case receiving royalties for someone else digging up those resources. Twiggy went as far as to say that taxing the wealthy was communism. If billionaires really want to contribute, the best way is to pay tax at the same rate as the rest of us. forget the top tax bracket, how about paying the 30 percent most average people pay. As of last year FMG was yet to pay any tax in australia. Maybe twiggy may start this benevolence by no longer screwing the traditional owners whose land hes mining on and pay them a fair royalty. I encourage success, but i have no time for excess and twiggy, gina and their ilk are the epitome of excess!
What I don't get is why did he get all flustered about the mining tax, if he knew he was going to give away half of all the profits he's made from raping australias resources anyway.
Good on him for the gesture - has he actually, given away any of his wealth yet, or is it just a pledge in his will? Sorry, haven't read all the docs on his generous offering.
Wouldn't surprise me if he was pennyless when he dies, Wouldn't be the first time that has happened in the wild west.
Two types of peeps in the world: Real & Fake. Twiggy falls into the latter for me.
So his charitable foundation will be set up with a board of directors and staff to administer the good work.
How much will get to those who need it and how much will be used to pay the people that run it?
Just a front really as the board will be him, his family and other cohorts, whilst management will be much of the same.
Yeah well done![]()
