I have donated two organs and feel wonderful as a result. The first one was years
ago as a young man and the subsequent one a few years ago. Both recipients
were glad to get them. The second one was more satisfying as it went to a family
of about 9 children. It was a Casio from memory. The first one was just an old
Yamaha which we gave to the local church.
Without seeing the doco...
Australians should be required to donate organs as a matter of tacit acceptance.
If you fill out a form stating that you do not want your organs donated, then fine. Otherwise to the chopshop!!
thanks for reading
@ elbeau
thanks for your donations, I think I may be one of your recipients as my music appreciation is stronger now after my transplant than before.
anecdotal stories suggest this is possible![]()
Somebody correct me if I am wrong.
Up until about 2-3 years ago, being an organ donator in WA was as simple as ticking a box on your driver licence renewal form.
This has now changed.
I am as guilty as everyone else who hasn't done anything about this.
You now need to fill out a special form or make it inclusive in your will to donate organs in WA.
There was a guy at Perth City Rail Station handing out forms last week. Dont know if he is still there.
Plan to recifiy this oversight shortly
The tick box on the driver's licence is worthless, unfortunately. Not even looked at when discussing these things.
And your own views are worthless too - unless you let your family know about them. TELL YOUR LOVED ONES YOUR VIEWS - including if you do NOT want to donate your organs
i have ticked the box for organ donation but i pity the person who ends up with my liver and kidneys
