A caricature of a rock band. All the right rock noises, poses, haircuts. But ultimately a vaccuous bunch of posers. Ah! I just want to wish them well

I have never understood the self rightous slaggers of the finger? Poseurs? Erm.. we talkin bout the same band?

To me they have always been pretty natural, and whilst commercial friendly, they have never been a haircut/tatts/shoegazing or any other fickle genre driven entity, as most of their detractors aspire to be.

Each to their own.

I was lucky to see em on their 1st national tour in a small Perf club. Great gig (they were support for Regurgitator) and as their shows got bigger over the years they still managed to just be a bllody good band - every time. No hysterics/addiction/ugly crowd interaction. Just great entertainment and toons.

On a big stage or little I thought they left the boolsh!t behind and just rocked out. Shame there isn't more bands with less self infatuation like the finger.

Pity I missed their final tour but was bloody good to see em 6-7 times over the years..

Sorry Funky, they just wind me up. I hear their influences too easily. And for a band that were around for what seemed like an eternity they had no ground breaking Album(how old fashioned), no direction, no attitude, just a bunch of singles that could have won a most improved award in "Australia's got Talent". They are to music what the Toyota Corolla is to motoring

So, who are the "influences" you speak of?

I think they are a great band who I have seen live many times. I dont like all their music but they are brilliant musos and they know how to wright great pop songs.

I take your point Stamp, but there is nuthin new under the sun mate.

I hear influences flaunted on the sleeves of 90% of music that is celebrated as 'fresh' every day.

At the same time I enjoy a bit of Jet and Wolfmother.. but is really cracks me up that they are so both derivitive and yet HEAPS of nongs wrote off Jet but talked up Wolfmother!?.

Please.. there is nuthin new under the sun mate.

I wouldn't really bother to cross the road to see either BTW but their toons are enjoyable.

But then I am old and jaded.
