I get this annoying Price Gong pop up on my computer both at work and at home on my lap top. My work PC and my home lap top are completely seperate, at no time have I used the same hardware on both systems...... but I have emailed between them!

I have tried going in to add/remove programs via the control panel as some info on google suggests but I can't find anything relating to it in there. I have performed another anti virus scan with Trend Micro but that didn't help. On the Price Gong website it offers a tool to remove the program but haven't used it as I don't trust this site at all.

My PC guy tells me to run a free version of bitdefender but you go on to that site and have to sign up for other useless crap.

Any advice guys.... and girls

Hi,

We are sorry to hear that you didn't like our product.

If you are still interested in removing PriceGong it is quite easy.

Basically you can follow the steps listed in PriceGong site: http://www.pricegong.com/How_To_Uninstall_PriceGong.aspx

If you don't see PriceGong listed in the "Add/Remove Programs" it means that you have it as an additional service of a browser toolbar that you installed.
If needed, you can easily disable it from that browser toolbar. You should click the PriceGong button (looks like a green price tag) on your browser toolbar.

If you have PriceGong installed as a standalone application, it can easily be removed using the "Add/Remove Programs"

Another way to remove PriceGong is to use PriceGong uninstaller that could be found here: www.pricegong.com/inst/uninstaller.exe (It's totally safe don't worry)

If you have more questions about PriceGong you may contact PriceGong Support from this link: www.pricegong.com/ContactUs.aspx

Best regards,
PriceGong Support Team

They are SUPers

They are a virus.

A nasty virus that infects beaches near you, rendering previously pleasant waves unpleasant. Everytime you turn around one is instantly there, popping up right in front of you.

In the old days, pre-modern board technology, all you had to deal with was lidders. They used to swarm about, but tended to be a low level junior infection that could be told to piss off.

Nowadays you get this, much more infectious. Many think they are real users with equal rights.

You only solution is to upgrade to a faster and bigger wave. They don't seem to be able to process big fast waves.

Why dont you mysteriously uninstall your massively annoying product just like you mysteriously installed this **** and mysteriously found this thread within minutes of it being posted.

Seems it's not spyware or a virus.
Chances are:
1. It was bundled with some freeware you installed on both machines like a pdf viewer, mp3 player, etc. Stop clicking install, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Slow down and read everything, choose advanced install options.
Also choose better download sites, cos retards like this place below wrap stuff you can get elsewhere (clean) with bundles of all sorts of unwanted crap, then give them 5 star reviews to entice you.
http://www.brothersoft.com/pricegong-208307.html <--- never get stuff from here

2. Otherwise blame the wife, relay point 1 to her.

3. That don't explain how they found you 16 minutes after posting, unless they have google agents. Which means they care about their reputation somewhat.

Buster, I'm gonna have to say you're carrying on like a twit.

What more do you want from Pricegong? They found the post and were on here apologising and giving clear instructions how to remove it within 16 minutes.

It's not like it's hard to remove anyway, standard windows uninstall.

They have since followed up with another apology.

This is perhaps the best service/attitude I have ever seen in this type of situation. They obviously care and are investing $$$s in cleaning up their reputation.

This programme must have been downloaded (probably inadvertently) by one of our employees.

Ok so far, it does not appear in add/remove programs, I found the price tag icon on the drop down box on the tool bar that has the price tag icon and it can be disabled there but this does not remove the program of course.

So far everything PriceGong has said has been correct so I will now nervously use thier exe programme and hope this is not another Nigerian scam..... here goes

Thanks PriceGong that worked easily I take back what I said earlier.

It's just that we have been defrauded on the internet previously. The last time we had a virus we had a large sum of money removed from our business bank account. It was taken out over a period of three days a few years back and we are still a bit burnt from that experience.

I think one of the staff must have loaded it on here inadvertently.
