Went to Lil Creatures Loft comedy night on Sat. Was a bit of a lack lustre night until the last guy came on.
Perf comic (but globe trotting these days) John Robertson was brilliant!!
Laugh till it hurts funny.
Sharper, smarter, darker, more ad-libbed, funnier and far eclipsed the other acts (including 'name' US import who stuck to a very standard 'black US guy in Oz' routine).
Ha ha - turns out John was on board for my son's 5th birthday at the 'science museum' he used to work at a few years ago too! (He was fired for rehearsing one too many of his 'dark' ukelele comedy numbers)
Many talents - and a funny sod!
One to watch for sure - keep an eye out for him.
I don't get out much these days but the LC loft on Sats and Fridees at Lazy Suzan's (upstairs at the brisbane hotel) are tops nights out @$20 a head and in LC's case - top notch pints for around $10 the laughin gear is lubed up for a some good arff arffs.
