Just throwing it out to the people who love using the wind - me and a mate just built a couple of slope soarer gliders to have a bit of fun and fly some combat. i know its probably not allowed but we kind of flew yesterday down at north cottesloe as its the only place that really faces into a sou west without going to mulla's. im looking forward to what litlle of the easterlies we have left to fly at mosman park (banned i think to paragliders and r/c gliders??) But is there anyone else out there that flys slope?? would love to catch up with some crew to fly with, the more the better when it comes to combat, and possible places to fly within the law. Thanks in advance - The master of crashing things

Ahhh man I want to get back into it... Such amazing fun hey!

Are they flying wings? Foam cut or Balsa?

Two channel, aileron/elevator?

How do you do the combat, is it with streamers?

Just built an EPP foam reinforced PC-9 (RAAF's trainer) looks a treat. Aileron/ elevator.
Had a nice session yesterday at north Cott as the wind had a fair bit of west to it. Absolutley beautiful, such a buzz. Combat is simple - take the opposing plane out of the sky!
I thought mosman park had been banned but maybe it was just the flying jellyfish (paragliders) Even though we were met with good vibes yesterday from intrigued people walking past, asking q's like "how does it stay up there?", "does it have a motor?" i feel it will only be a matter of time till someone says "you cant do that here" Seeems to be a fair bit of that happen at the moment round the place...

Soo.. if anyone else wants to join us feel free to send me a message! Will probably attempt to fly south cott this evening where the hang gliders usually fly.
Cheers

Flew last night at bishop st in dalkeith - was great, directly into the southerly wind, plenty of combat with my mate.
Which is Cables? South of Cott i take it? Cant believe more people arent enjoying this pastime - come on dust of your old plane and come fly.

Oh man. I"ve got one I never built sitting in a cupboard at home.

Anyone know of a place in SE QLD you can fly on a slope?

... Hang on, how much wind do you need? < 15 knots?

i should pull my old glider out too. spirit elite, with ailerons. I never really got into it, the r/c heli sucked me in quicker.

Hey dude.

Where about in Qld? We fly at Shorncliffe pde Shorncliffe in a N/E or E.
Head up to Malaney (bald knob) for pretty much any direction.
Down at Beechmont is sweet in anything from the south.
Also southern end of sandgate beach above the kiterz is sweet too.

If you do a search on slope soarning in Qld On google you may find more.

Might see ya out there, anything over 15knts and I'm usually on the water unless it's Cold!

Have fun, Chris Graham.
