The row boats left Geraldton on Sunday 19th ,it was great to see them preparing prior to departing.I cruised around on the old school windsurfer after tacking up from St Georges , i followed them for 5km out to sea in a light 1O knot seabreeze, untill there was only a few boats scattered around over 2km square area (Really surreal what was going on).
The night before i watched the doco on ABC about the bloke trying to get accross from Tassie to New Zealand in his kayak. TO full on.

my mate dave is rowing in the Go West team, they are up the pointy end of the race in the boat "whatever it takes".
i still think all there guys are totally nuts.
2 boats out now and I recon there might be a few considerin their future after last nights conditions.

Took this this morning. The "Go west team" boat on the back of the Nth Island carrier boat. Coulda been worse.coulda been in the middle of the Indian Ocean

Nice picture...looks like 3 have pulled out and 1 has not started yet. 6 out of 10 remaining. Not the best of stats 4 days into it.
