More than just a nutritious cereal grain... I dropped my new Iphone in the toilet (pre-****) and it was submerged for 5+ secs. It died & wouldn't turn on etc. Took out the sim card and water dribbled out. Anyways the good ol Internet told me to put it in a bowl of rice overnight.. lo & behold this morning it worked. woo hoo!
Internet is good, when it gets filtered it will be bad. ![]()
Rice is good tho
never thought of that one, how simple ![]()
So....... let me get this right before I try it....... drop phone in toilet, fish it out, then stick it in Condoleeza? ![]()

The best was I know of (especially for salt water), is to remove the battery as soon as possible, and drop the device into distilled water. Then strip it down and repeat. The water sensitive bits like speakers and mics do just a quick dunk. Submerge circuit boards for a few minutes. Leave everything to dry at room temperature for a few days (don't try to speed up drying by putting bits under a heat source or drying with a hair dryer). Reassemble.
Ja
My brother was a plumber, used to drop his phone all the time in dunnies, trenches filled with water etc. Used to throw them out, as they don't work straight away...found out that if you leave them for a few days as mentioned above, or basically dried out, they work again - not rocket science!
