I have a Rip Curl Tide Watch, but analogue. She's 9 years old already and still going strong.

I understand you can't change Moon Phase part, but Rip Curl or perhaps a good watchmaker can do it when changing the battery.

Sorry, not much help for the digital question though.

hit mode button to get to the tide screen
where it displays your location, hold down the lap/reset button (bottom right on mine) for about 3 seconds

use the mode and start/stop or lap/reset buttons to select your location
ie. asia/australia/wa/scarborough.

done!

I think you can use the spot x function if you don't have a close location

try this.

1) press mode/set to advance to tide set mode

2)press and hold thelap/reset for 2 secs to enter beach setting mode

3) toggle between regions using start /stop and lap/reset

4)when you find your desired region press mode /reset

5)use start/stop and lap reset to toggle through to your desired country

6)press mode/set to lock in your country

7)use start/stop to toggle through to your desired beach

8)press and hold mode/ set for 2 secs to to save selected beach.

SOrry for the delay , hope this helps

Does anyone else find these watches chew a ridiculous amount of battery?

Just changed mine after about 2 years or so. I would have thought that would be about average battery life.

No , Mine is 3.5 years old and just changed the battery last month. I have had digital (RC) tide watches before and hav'nt noticed any thing too bad....

How much is a rediculous amount?

I've hade my one ( rincon model ) 3 and abit years and I'm just about to send it off for 3rd battery. Maybe it just seems worse as you have to send it to Victoria to have the batt changed.

Thats correct - only if you want your warranty still. THe earlier models were notourious for faults however thier pretty good these days. I had my battery changed at my local shopping center and hav'nt had a problem. No leaks.

If ur going through soo many batteries try not looking at the time so often

The main reason I send it to torquay is my wife he's had 2 ripcurl watches done for batteries by jeweler/ keycutters and they have both sucked water and died. Alot of watchmakers won't touch them.
