Sad day for Les Norton fans today, with the passing of author Robert G Barrett.
Always a highlight of any holiday to spend a couple of days reading about Les and his one man crusades.
Great books and always enjoyed reading them a second, third, fourth,.... time.
RIP
Sad day indeed, read his last one on the plane home yesterday. Still riding on the storm, where he mentioned his battle with Bengal lancer.

These books got me into reading.
A nice light hearted way for a young bloke to learn to sit still 20 years ago.
First book, White Shoes, White Lines and Blackie. Being a Goldy boy a nice start and tour of the local scenery.
We always grabbed a Les Norton talking book for a road trip. Always good, dumb fun for a long drive.
I hope he had a good breakfast, a strong coffee, and dressed in his favourite t-shirt, black shorts, white trainers and souvenir cap from Koh Samui before shuffling off.
The books on Cd are great for road trips. Had them for a great trip through NZ. He will be missed.

Ahh crap. First one I read was 'The Godson', probably still my favourite. Seems like Les never got any older either, even though he was playing mix tapes in one book and listening to iPods in another. Bob did though. Sounds like he had a pretty good innings, especially if he got to 'research' all the stuff he put in the books.
And the Fun Don't Done Yet - Les' first sortie overseas during which he experienced the "Jamaican Snow Storm".
