Beware of scammers attempting to attain personal details, i am currently selling a 2nd hand kite on seabreeze and have done so over the past few years without incident, however i recieved a text from some random called "KEN" the text asked me to reply to his email address at hot mail, outside of seabreeze although i was a little suspicious i replied to a few of his emails over the course of the day.
It became suspicious that he wanted me to setup a paypal account that was attached to a bogus weblink, when i refused to use his paypal link he then simply wanted to deposit money into my account.
Sellers beware Seabreeze is a great website but not impervious to scammers, has anyone else had these kinds of issue when selling 2nd hand gear?

Is there a way to report this to Telstra?

When I get dodgy eBay email I forward them to eBay but I've never got a text before.

Either that or I have won a million pounds from a country I've never visited

That amount looks too suspiciously like the ransom demanded by Dr. Evil to remove the threat against the world. Therefore I would not proceed if I were you ...

Thats nothing! There is a Fedex parcel with my name on it, containing 2.6 million US, several people have contacted me with extremely lucrative, but highly secretive, business dealings, the head of the IMF has some 'overdue' funds waiting to send to my account, and on top of all that i can get Viagra/Cialis to 'make many woman to paradise'

I had some really good emails asking me to log into my paypal account via "this link". You click the link and the web site looks exactly like the paypal website.

It nearly took me as I have actually had paypal asking me to do the same thing.

Everyone in the Buy & Sell has been notified via email...

We recently added an anti-web-scanning system, so we've cut down most of the automated scammer crew, but some still get through...

The best is the constant phone calls I get from India telling me my windows software has a virus. Trying to explain to them I don't have windows doesn't seem to get the point across.

Amusing comments on a car for sale on Car Point.

I have had car since new, extremely reliable and hard working - as you would expect from a German. 80% highway klms, cruise control works fantastic! Full service history. Lots of room with the seats folded down for carrying small and even awkward items. Rhino roof racks to carry items that won't fit inside. Couple of tiny marks on the car from drivers who not only lack sufficient depth perception to negotiate their vehicle through standard sized car parks but also lack the intestinal fortitude to take responsibility for above mentioned inabilities....
Easy colour to keep clean.
Reluctant to sell - amazing fuel consumption, safe, plenty of power for a small car, etc, etc... but down grading to 4WD....
Would suit anyone really.... Just had it fully detailed.
Good value for money, have averaged 5ltr/100km since new.
This car would make you, or someone you know very happy - you wouldn't be dissapointed....
Text messages will more than likely not be answered, even if you are on an oil rig and you want to pay more than I'm asking. I will also not be accepting any requests to pay via paypal as that account is being used to transfer a large inheritance from the UK....

Ah, Ken. I'm annoying the hell out of him.

"Find attached my invoice for $25,600. Send me your shipping address and I'll post my email address forthwith."
