I've been kiteing in Sydney a fair bit over the last month and been pretty confused when sea breeze is showing a very different forecast to the BOM site. And usually the BOM has been spot on yesterday was another example of seabreeze prediction being wrong... Last year Seabreeze seemed to get it right are they using a different source for info??
i would say so as BOM always seem to have a better prediction than seabreeze but seabreeze have a better forcast when it comes to about a week in advance.
Even though I stole it from Laurie in the first place? Have a look whose profile the pic is posted on...
seabreeze uses a computer model from pressure gradients, i.e. no local affects. BOM forecasts for commonly known local affects, i.e. seabreeze and gully winds. I.e. IRonically.. seabreeze does not forecast the seabreeze
p.s. that's why they can do a 7 day wind forecast. BOM don't bother because they know anything over 3 days is complete B.S.
