It's now going back to the "full bench of the Federal Court". I would hate to think how much this is costing tax payers...
Or if the cost is included within a normal years work for most of these people (government employees), I would have thought that their time could be more productively spent on other issues.
I would broadly suggest that 10-15 person weeks will get sucked up by this... average day rate, maybe $2,500...?? That's a cool $100,000 or so... and I think that's low. I just think it's a waste of resources, on an extremely rare and isolated incident.
when a glass light fitting came away from the wall above the bed![]()

Reading the topic heading, I thought hullo hullo this will be one of Simondo,s stories from his recent work trip to Japan! .....Wrong.....
Our legal system works on precedent. The gummint is trying to have the precedent set in its favour. If it wins it'll save a lot of money in the future.
What happened - did the glass fitting blow in her face?
Was she on the job taking dictation at the time?
Maybe it was flexi time?
So many questions.. I think a picture of the event will help understand things a bit better.![]()
Work safe investigated that incident .
It was discovered that , ... No SWMS was prepared before the project .
...... A complete lack of regard for safety while performing the task was evident .
...... How ever the orgasim was worth the lump on the forehead .
Case dismissed .
That only means that is not enough government regulations covering "sex at work".
As steel cap boots, fluorescent jacket and helmets are " must have" for blue collars,
now condoms and over safe practice is needed for higher lever establishment.
