Taxis are cheap ( like 4 times cheaper than Aus) and mrt is really cheap and effecient ( about a dollar each way)
any of the resteraunts / bars down at Clark Quay are awesome.
I spent a couple of weeks there on R&R last year and had a ball. Theres a spot up the top end called the handlebar which is a bit of a mission to get to but supposed to be worth the trip.
the air walk down at the Marina sands area is woth a look if ya are into that sort of stuff.

if you're up for it, take a train to china town or little india and just walk the streets.. especially little india, you'll feel like you're actually in india.
took the missus there once and she couldn't handle it.. but you'll find awesome indian food and cheap buys
Thanks Bluedog
Jurong and the zoo sound good - one or other tomorrow. The Casino is good . Want to go to new Botanic Gardens
Lantern bar at Fullerton is a place to be - very cool. Fullerton High Teas. Clarke Quay on a Friday night -should be there now!
Taxis are the way to go - reasonably priced
It is good fun - you will have a hoot
Stay near Clarke Quay area or in the Raffles area if you can - I prefer Raffles area. Don't prefer Orchard road but that's me. I like the view from this end of town.
In banking or shipping? O&G?
cheers bluedog and co
Had a look down at clark quay, and was impressed!
Had a look around the Arab area and loved the hooker pipes, the Karaoke bars are a little different, buying friendship wasnt in the manual
If you have any rag rats with you then a trip to Lego Land in Maylasia well worth the visit. I didn't want to go but ended up loving it... It's about an hours drive (including immigration) from Raffles City.
Depending on where you are be carefull of the MRT. Sometimes it's much much quicker to take a taxi.
If you fancy paying $20 for a beer, head to the viewing platform at the 3 towers(casino)
East coast park, which is on the way to the airport has the best chilli crab
Raffles hotel has free nuts when you pay $30 for a singapore sling
Singapore... you are meant to route through to other destinations, like The Maldives for quality surf, and Japan for deep powder snow...

(fantastic airport... but I am planning to stop over for a few days next time... I haven't set foot outside yet, other than the open air deck/terrace, which is mainly used by the smokers...)
banana leaf appolo little india - awesome indian food and cheap
chjimes opposite raffles worth going to one night (food area)
holland village also good eating area and of course dempsey hill
clark quay reasturants overrated.
go to the luge on sentosa! good fun and cheaper than other stuf
the fort on sentosa is good/ good history
if you go to dempsey hill check out the tippling club for a drink.
try the smokey old bastard scotch
walk on the chinatown side along the river from clark quay to the fullerton.
all the seafood reastaurants have produce in tanks. cool to check out all the fish/ huge crabs even bullfrogs
Wavehouse is a great place to just stop for a beer too. 2 flowriders (just the hump) and a left flowbarrel 10. Watch the locals rip it.
Wasn't that excited about going to Universal Studios, but once we were tehre I really enjoyed it. Transformers 3D, Battlestar Gallactica dog fight rollercoasters and return of the mummy were good fun.
New skydiving wind tunnel on Sentosa now too.
Night Zoo is worth a look.
If you want to branch out a bit, Kuala Lumpur is a cheap 7 hour night train ride away.
The Public Transport is easy to use and pretty much goes everywhere.
Yep went to the wavehouse for the day off, was so good!!! Got worked a fair bit. Was Chines new years so the croweds were a bit hectic.
Went up to four floors and learnt an interesting fact, a sex change and a pair of boobs will set you back $40K![]()
Little India = great food
Off to some joint tonight to catch our own prawns and have them cooked for us
No matter how long you have to wait in line for a taxi do not get in a ricshaw unless you agree on a price. Got conned into one with the wife. The guy wouldn't give us a price said don't worry I look after you. Went maybe 2km to our hotels when he gave me a card with the price $99. Told him how to get home in English if you know what I mean gave him a 20 and a birdie.
