.....After the MotoGP race – where Valentino Rossi took out Honda's Casey Stoner in a lowside crash – Rossi went into the Australian's garage immediately to apologize (& kept his helmet on
).
Rossi was able to get back on his Ducati and finish an impressive 5th, while Stoner, who was furious, was out of the race.
Stoner (smiling): “How's your shoulder? Is it okay?”
Rossi (helmet still on): “I'm very sorry.”
Stoner: “Okay. You have some problem with your shoulder?”
Rossi: “I make a mistake”
Stoner: “Yeah. Obviously your ambition outweighed your talent.”
Rossi: “Eh?”
Stoner: “Ambition is more than the talent.”
Rossi: “I'm very sorry.”
Stoner: “No problem.”![]()
LOL, what about every other time he's fallen off. Stoner doesn't generally need someone to knock him over he manages it all by himself. He's the most frustrating person to support. Allmost as bad as cheering for the Western Force.
Can't blame him for being seriously pissed off though and I hate when these sort of crashes mess with the championship contenders.
When Stoner has as many championships under his belt as Rossi he can talk to him about talent. Funny stuff.
Can't blame him for being pissed off for taking his bike out from under him. Hmm, why does that sound familiar ?
Was pretty funny, but Pretty rich comment by stoner considering Rossi's career in comparison to his own.
Its racing this stuff happens Stoner looked like a dick with his little dweeby comments he should of just sucked it up, and got on with it.
At least Rossi went straight to his garage after the race to apologise.
Very entertaining stuff ![]()
Rossi is good .. in fact he is a Great rider.
But Stoner was right. Rossi's ability didn't match his ambition -- at the time!!! ![]()
Even with Jeremy Burgess ( he has been behind just about every world champ in the class since the early 90's ) doing the engineering for Rossi's Ducati team he should have known that the big Duke still won't steer properly when pushed to the absolute edge of grip.
He gets away with pushing the limits of a bike more often than not but this time his ambition did NOT match his ability and as Stoner has experienced quite a few times when riding the red bike it bites back. ![]()
After JB has had the bike for a season you should start to notice some good results for Rossi.....![]()
