^^ as opposed to having both hands on your pole

main problem is loosing them in heavy surf, have found cheap sunnies are more
economical in the long run with a high turnover rate .
While seabreeze sunnies were the best i've tried ,was becoming expensive
after sacrificing a couple of pairs to the sea .

i use the $8 safety glasses you can get at bunnings or reece etc. lose a few but with a sunglass head band they stay on well.
I've been using these for years:
www.seabreeze.com.au/shop/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=25
Never had them come off without wanting them to, however I advise coating the metal screw with silicone or it can rust up.
Make sure you work out if you want Polarised or Non-Polarised.
My everyday sunnies are polarised, but when kiting I can't stand polarised sunnies. Think its a personal preference, I just find the chop harder to read with polarised sunnies.
I keep trying different safety specs (they are all cheap enough), but keep going back to what I believe is most suitable for watersports and driving - "Uvex Gravity Zero Brown" - top-right corner on this page: content.yudu.com/Library/A1s64l/SafeguyCatalogueIssu/resources/400.htm
They are anti-fog and anti-scratch, no metal parts, super-light, and have great optical performance. Been abusing the same pair for many years, almost daily. Use them with a strap when windsurfing. Wish I knew where to buy them from locally.
There is a direct cooralation between the price of a pair of sunglasses and how quickly you will lose them, cheap sunglasses last forever.
Hey
Thanks everyone, have found a website that sells decent watersports sunglasses at very reasonable prices
www.pelicansea.com They look pretty good. They have two styles. The gulls that are super cheap and like goggles or the seahawks that are like the seaspecs brand but cheaper. Leaning towards the seahawks. ![]()
I have a pair of white Sea somethings... but check this out... They've separated from my head 2 x after wiping out, and I've been able to find them again!
The black ones just disappear.
I got seahawks sunglasses from that www.pelicansea.com and they are great. The price is great as well. You dont want to pay big bucks for equipment that could potentially get lost in the surf. pretty happy![]()
I would avoid the Oriole ones on the Pelicansea web site. The thick rubber padding around the lenses will make it difficult to get in and clean the them. It is very important to have clean, grease free lenses. I clean mine with detergent and warm water.
I thought advertising was banned on the forums?
Perhaps I'm overly suspicious but the only two users (hifly99 and wombles) who are promoting pelicansea have never posted anything before and have posted nothing since. Guerrilla advertising? If so, then I'll avoid pelicansea sunnies on principle!
