Wow! Expensive error of judgement. Looking forward to seeing the film footage of going over the falls on a beast wave like that.
If you were in that position what would be your call?
1.- Hold on
2.- Bail... hope the ski doesn't hit you
3.- ....
there was one on biggest wednessday a while ago ill see if i can get the footage aswel ;-)
That would be mu instinctive reaction, gun it hard, try to keep the nose up, and miss the surfer. But I've never ridden a jetski, so no idea if that would work.
5. Turn religious instantly & pray!
I've never owned a jetski, (and never will, so know feck-all about them) but I know that a boat prop wouldn't work in that aerated water due to cavitation...ie; no grip! I'm assuming that the intake on the jet would have similar issues in white-water?
In saying that, I'm guessing Tom Carroll would have a pretty good grasp on how to manage a jetski, and if he reckons there's nothing he could do...I'll go with his word on that.
Hard choice.
I'd prolly gun the ski straight and go left if I make it over the falls.
If you bail there's a good chance you'd get smashed by the ski in the tumbler.
