thats what we forget!!!!!!!!
the teacher holidays with the kids!
6 weeks plus christmas 8 weeks.
and they complain about working conditions! ![]()
end of rant.
congrats liz. ![]()
All those holidays.. best career choice you could make. Screaming kiddies, think I'd need a labotomy to cope though. All the best kiddo
the other good thing about being a teacher is when you have kids you dont have to worry about babysitting the kids on the school holidays. will free up more time for your husband to go kiting.
Yes, congratulations, see if you can get windsports on the curriculum![]()
my school had windsurfing as part of the health and PE subject (hired wally's - even counted towards tertiary enterence) one of the guys could do planing one handed forwards so i think he aced the subject!!
We also did it for group activites. had great fun railriding and frestyling on those old boards!!
Just had to say... What a great day!
Ahhhh and it can only get so much better! =]
Dare I add to the discussion that classrooms in State Schools are more than amazingly equipped! Interactive whiteboards, 2 computers in room, 17 computers in connecting computer lab, 2 year old classroom! mmMmmm
27 in my class and left just before 7pm! [}:)]
What else can I ask for! [}:)]
Not bad!!
WA primary schools are trying to get basic things like classrooms that are not transportables cobbled together, furniture less than 20yrs old and aircon repaired etc. Looks like your State Govt is perhaps a bit better?
So, if you were in Liz's class would you be sitting in the back row, probably as usual, or in the front?
And is the best classroom I've ever seen.
Checked under the tables for chewy yet? ![]()
Ha ha - these days there could be a flamin Uzi 9mm!!
Ornya Lithbeth - good luck with the little devils darlins. [}:)]
My 6yr old starts grade 1 on Mundee - he is pretty chuffed to be 'a big boy' and mixin it with the big squids.![]()
Hope in several years he emerges with better spellin n grammer than his old fart! ![]()
Took my 5yo to his prep 'meeting' with Miss Mac yesterday...wtf is with the exam? (Liz, you might be able to answer this). He was asked to count backwards from 84, forwards from 98, addition, multiplication, and then was expected to point out punctuation. HE CAN'T EVEN READ YET! I though this was the point of sending him to school.
Anyways, I was proud of the li'l tyke, he did manage to get most of it right, including writing his name, his sister's, and mum & dad!
I guess there's a reason for it...
(it might be like preseason footy training where we had to do time-trials, and improve with each session....I sussed that one out pretty fast, don't go hard for the first few sessions, and your coach will be looking at your improvement![}:)])
Well done Liz. I hope you leave a lasting impression on the minds of your pupils. I have never forgotten one teacher my daughter had in primary school. For a whole year my daughters books were full of beautiful writing and illustrations done by my daughter. The following years she had different teachers and her work was never quite so beautiful again. All the pupils were the same. I think she was so inspiring that the kids just wanted to do their best.
If you were in Liz's classroom the seating would be easy. Nearest the windows so you could check the wind and weather every 30 seconds![]()
My daughter started high school last week, she is loving it!!!
