Cool, when I was a teenager I spent most of my hard earned at the gold coast wake park. Kneeboard to double ski to single ski to trick ski to surfboard to disk with a little wake thrown in when I could scrounge one.

Do you remember how much the Thai one charged?

^^^ stay in WA you would only ruin the vibe anyway.

If you can't tell Bali from Thailand your geography is very poor.

Yeah I think I paid like 500 for 2 weeks with brekki airport transport
and stuff ... was pretty cheap

Gold coast cables are SO expensive though!

Well worth going to Thailand .... but no waterskis there

Yeh the goldie one (long gone I think?) was great when it opened, you could do as many laps as you could hang on for. So you could bust out your big tricks just after the start station corner, short swim/walk if you fell. They had a 30kph lake and a 40-45kph for skiing (which they would sometimes pump up to 60+)

We spent, well pretty much everything we could save from weekend/avo jobs, but we had a few scams too, reusing day passes etc. My mate got busted (wrong colour texta red not orange or something, close but not close enough) and hauled off in a paddy wagon for a warning.

But over the years they tightened it down to 2 laps, then less than 1 full lap. Jacked the price up to pay for all this other crap they put in, jet skis and go karts and a driving range and putt putts. 3rd lake too (which they didn't need), and they sunk a bus for diving around (no fish, so couldn't have been that exciting).

Anyway... I love Thailand, been 4-5 times. Can't go wrong there. I spent arguably the best 8 weeks of my life on bottle beach, kpg. Literally cried when I left. But that's another story.

^ I used to go to cable ski world as a school sport. I can single ski so-so well, but never actually been behind a boat. Now it's an estate.

This is why we need more boat people.

Today's word is: parochial.

At TWP your almost always allowed to ride about 7 laps and usually you end up crashing before anyway if you're going all out And they have a small ute that
picks you up if you fall off on the other side of the lake
