I have to clarify the beer and pizza comment.
An acceptable substitute in a flash joint (like, when you wear your good thongs and clean trackie dacks) is deep fried camembert and a nice sem sauv blanc. Oh fk yeah.
we used to have at least a dozen frozen nanas in the freezer at all times. now the are $15 / kg. no can do.

At NZ$2.50 a kilo it didn't break the bank either.. I think they import them from South America.
Cant believe the classic "beer and souvlaki" has been missed off , especially smothered in sour cream and chilli sauce
