"Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers."

Socrates 469-369BC.

Yeah but at least they weren't jumping off buildings, head butting car windows, or lighting their heads on fire..

Fortunately for me, my youth pre-dated hand held digital devices.

Actually, I watch these idiots risking their necks (and their Lives) for nothing better than some go-pro footage, and then think of all the 19-year-olds they jammed into Spitfires and Hurricanes in 1940 and who held the weight of a nation's freedom on their shoulders and who were shot down and burned alive.

If these idiots think so little of their lives let them trade places with all those boys who died in war and were cheated of their lives.

Youth back then were probably doing the ancient equivalent, ie sticking their head in lions' mouths, taunting Spartans and seeing how much hemloch one can consume before passing out.

Yep agreed.

I met a guy who is regularly featured in Funniest Home Video's. He's the one going down a hill or sand dune in a truck tyre. It looks quite amusing as he bounces on down the hill but his back is completely fkd. He said at each bounce his spine was being compressed so now his discs are cactus and he has constant pain and is unable to do many tasks.

The reality of these vids is left in the ether from whence they are uploaded.

What you're watching is human evolution in action.

If adolescing males didn't engage in risk taking behaviours, we would all be cowering in caves, or worse, we would still be living trees. An ancestral 'jackass' ventured out of a tree, on to the ground, to exploit new food sources. Some of your ancestral 'jackasses' ventured out of the forest on to the savannah. Exposing themselves to untold risk.

Ancestral jackasses on African plains ventured out in the midday sun, when predators and prey were seeking shade. They discovered our unique ability (perspiration) to run down prey.

Vasco de Gama, Ferdinand Magellan, the Wright Brothers, Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary, Ken Warby, NASA's astronauts on the Apollo Program, all of them 'A grade jackasses'.

Enjoy the video. The behaviours you're witnessing are written in your DNA and possibly unique to humans or at least those who aren't accountants or actuaries.

Nicely put Issa. None of these geniuses are going to make any contributions, however, unless what we are really witnessing is a study into the recovery ability of testicles

I understand why now. These guys just do not think things through before they do it.
