Anyway, we have a half crappy 10 year old toaster, from Breville, and still going strong.
However, with the advent of smart phones, I've recently noticed that my toaster is way behind the times... in these ways;
- normal 2 slice toaster, doesn't receive toast that is bigger than a normal "block" loaf, so it doesn't properly receive the larger cob loafs (or is it loaves, who cares?), etc.
- with large breads, I have to keep popping the farkers up, and rotating them, and some edges are under-done, and the middle is over done...
This is my biggest concern in life! Just kidding. I know there are bigger issues out there! ![]()
But what "kick-arse" toasters can people suggest?
There are some $200 Breville Toasters, that seem a little over the top... But they might be a smart toaster... Suggesting there is an "anti-burn" feature. Plus a button for "just a little bit longer".
Is $200 the right decision to solve today's dilema! ![]()

Cats played last night. Mum is over. Boredom is setting in.
No surf, and Downwind SUP buddies are racing over the other side of the bay.
Simondo I hear yr pain.....we had similar issues about 12 months ago and splashed out on an expensive one that never lived up to expectations....we then took it back and had a whinge - the bloke told us that we had been sold a lemon and gave us this one instead and a refund for the difference. We are more than happy with our new one although if it was a little higher (maybe an extra couple of inches) it would be perfect. I love the lift and look function ![]()

Ted, I hear you...
You want it a little bit higher...
The "extra long slot" covers the width issue, but there are some nice "jumbo loaves" on the market, and most (all!?) toasters don't have you covered on both height and width!!
How hard can it be !!! ![]()
All I want is a "Jumbo Toaster". 2 long slots, operate independently, with generous "height", and and generous slice thickness coverage, up to 30mm.
