Sleeping in a room with too much light can cause depression, psychologists claim.
Even just the glow from leaving the television on while you sleep can be enough to trigger the effect, say scientists.

Lack of darkness during sleeping hours can cause changes to the brain and depressive symptoms, according to animal studies.

This is one of the few mainstream articles i actually believe.

Artificial light, possibly main reason for so many sleeping problems.

I'm confused as well, this one is well documented and accepted.

Edit. But it could be tied into the fluoride in the tap water conspiracy, I think the link between sunlight, melatonine production and sleep/circadian rythms are well accepted, but fluoride ingestion has been speculatively linked to calcium deposits in the pineal gland. And the pineal gland produces melatonine. One of melatonine's jobs is to regulate sleep.

So it's not the tv being left on in the bedroom, it must be the fluoride in the water that causes depression and sleep disorders.

I get depression from having the TV on, even when not trying to sleep.

Nothing but 'reality' shows and crap about people nobody cares about doing up their garden / house / cooking / jogging around the world giving Hindi taxi drivers the sh!ts.
What happened to sitcoms and the Fri / Sat night movie?

i agree with this one too. i spent a couple of weeks in antarctica over mid summer and the sun never really set. it would scrape the horizon for sunset and then rise again. after a few days it started to really mess with my head. i could never get a good night's sleep, even in a darkened cabin.

i remember listening to JJJ in 1997, and the bird that likes to talk about what's coming up on free to air telly in the near future said, "we are about to see a dramatic change. there's a new type of show called reality tv"

and i thought to myself.....nah, that will never take off

i think pay tv were rubbing their hands together while salivating over the thought that viewers would pay to jump ship, just to get away from that crap

Fancy big pharmaceutical companies doing nothing but making pharmaceuticals. They should be out turning everyone's TV off at night. Naughty, naughty pharmaceutical companies. They are obviously shape-shifting reptilians ever so slowly, over thousands and thousands of years dumbing us down to work for them day in day out making hamburgers and working in surf shops and such. Those shifty reptilians. Wake up sheeple!

Yeah, if only.

If I try and sleep through my normal waking time, daylight seems to find its way into my eyes and I cannot sleep.

I have had times where I have had a long night out, gotten to bed at 3 or 4am, and woken at 5am, just because the sun has come out... ahhhh! I envy those that can sleep through this.
