It's that time of year again.
Although it's a tainted sport i still find the spectacle enthralling.
3 weeks of late nights - at least it's a way to kill the windless days.

Yeh Stu, I'm not that interested in bikes, but I'm always glued to the screen when it's on as well.
I'm a huge Phil Leggitt fan.
I was in France last year when it was on and it didn't seem to be loved by too many in Paris, just interferes with the traffic flow. (If there is any traffic coordination in Paris???)

I think that Phil Leggit really adds to the event...he is a really nice guy ...met him a few years ago when he was in Oz covering a race in Vic...easy to talk to and no bulls..t side to him...

That finish was great last night. Bakelants had the bunch baring down on him like a stampede for kilometers and pulled off the win by 1 second. His first stage win in 5 years as a pro. He's a happy boy.

Yes another ripper finish. God it was close - less than 100mm in it. Had Sagan come around Gerrans 10 seconds earlier he would have owned him. It was important for their ongoing support that OGE scored at least 1 stage win.
I wonder what happened to Matt Goss. Is he a little off song, pranged, stuck on the hill, withdrawn?

Great night of strategic riding, blew the field open. Great to see Cadel still do pretty well without any of his team left to support him, last climb was the killer.

Hope the rest of the stages don't end up being boring now as they protect the lead like last year.

^^ Doesn't look like it. The Sky team just managed also ran status on stage 9. Moviestar showed their mettle this time and did most of the pace setting. Richie went from second to 18 min behind. He and the rest of the team probably overcooked on stage 8. Froome is hanging on. His performance was so extraordinary on stage 8 that some folk are hanging out for the dope test result.

Rest day today.

Froome rode like a demon last night as well. Out on his own with movistar baiting him up a mountain.
Hope he isnt on drugs will taint the whole team and wiggo from last year.

Awesome Vid

Stage 14 could well be another one that suits OGE if Sagan doesn't spoil it.
Hopefully Matt Goss might find some sprinting form this week. Tassie boys are doing pretty well and local girl Amy Cure just won the Czech Tour de Feminin for the Jayco AIS squad.

why is it ok to use solid rear wheel in time trials and not normal stage ?

i beleive the solid wheel is no good for side wind .

but side wind can affect time trial as much as other stage ??

Stage 15 wow! I thought Quintana had it in the bag. He just plugs away up the Ventoux as steady as can be, as if hes taking a stroll, absolutely cool and unperturbed leaving the dripping gasping nodding and dying behind. Then Froome pops out from behind Porte spinning like the Road Runner and in just a few minutes he's across the gap. He's amazing, all legs and lungs. Then he rode away from Quintana to win again just like he did last year in the mountains before Wiggo put his foot down.

Barring accident he's a shoe shoo in.

Massive performance by Froome. That last hill ride was awe inspiring.
