VHS conversion ?

Any one on here used an rca to usb lead and software to transfer their old home movies onto their pc ? Which ones would crew recommend- are they worth it ? where to buy etc ?

I just took the VHS output and put into the DVR/PVR input and recorded to the PVR HDD. Then just used the (basic) editing of the PVR to cut out sections and then burnt to DVD.

Wasn't fancy but it worked a treat and quality was as good as can be expected.

My only comment would be that you'd want to be sure that the RCA/USB cable is not degrading the video signal - as VHS is alreay quite poor...

Have you tried looking on YouTube - heaps of instructional videos there... from respoking bike wheels to modifying Xboxes...
