Syd-Bali is usually $700-$800 return isn't it? $600 is about as good as you'll usually get. If you get it for $500 you are lucky.
From memory, the going rate in about 1995 was also $800 including 5 nights 3-star accomm....
Ahh...I still remember my $90 return ticket in 2009.

I just repeated your transaction and got a similar result.
What I did was accidentally click on the business class upgrade for the flights.
I thought I then clicked on the non-business class selection but either it didn't register, or I didn't do it right. I then ended up with some very expensive tickets.
Either way, I went through the process again and it worked perfectly.
It's a little bit confusing how they offer you two flights side-by-side. It looks like departure and return flights. In fact you have to scroll down and make a selection for the return flight.
The performance on the Jetstar web site was fast enough so it was no drama to go back and repeat the transaction.
Just got 2 return tickets to Paris with Malaysian Air Lines for $ 1235.00 ea. all included!
Check around as there is bargains!
Last year I went to Zurich with Emirate for $ 2200.00 and it was a discounted price as well.... so they said????!!!!! Between Dubai and Zurich had the worst plane ever been in.... cabin was old and seats stained with broken setup going on the resting position at an angle, the TV screen would not stay up and the foot rest was gone!
Food was the usual bad but booze was plentiful if you could be bothered to walk down the ales to the galley as they would just ignore your call after you had 2 beers!

Could this account for the discrepency in the price?
