Am needing a bodyboard, do I buy from KMART?

I am !80cm tall 70kg normally ride a shortboard, looking for something that is durable and duckdives well, hate getting sucked over falls etc on big days.

Do I buy from KMART, 2nd hand market or dedicated shop, do YOU have something for me?

Use to have bodyboard 15 years ago and borrowed a friends recently, what do I need to know? Any other advice?

No!!!

Absolutely not!!!!

You need to hunt down a Mach 77 or Mach 8TX.

Churchhill flippers.

You also need to bring back more drop knee action.

GOOD!

Go to the biggest surf shop near u look at them all & pick 1. flatter
the better, no rocker that happens latter on its own. then go find
the cheapest price.
You can get custem boards for a similar price.
Get 1 with a stringer in it, it will not bend like a banana as
quick. $400 will get a top of the line board but heaps
around $250 300.

a $56 board is ok for staighty races.
its like comparing a new mistral slalom to an old bombora
exit or zot, it just wont cut it when u need it to.

I agree - start with the $60 one from a sports store. The Redback range is OK. My 15yo son is 6'3" and 88kg and is riding a 43" model... it has taken a few beatings with the dumpers we have been having in Perth lately and is still OK. Just need to upgrade the lease... You can upgrade later if you get into it and won't have lost too much money.

Oh and the Redback one has 2x stringers.
