are there any of these sort of full out flicks for any of the water sports we have on the forum?

Very cool, lake Geneva looks breathtaking but I was thinking the same idea except as long as a movie, documentary style.
Danw there are heaps for every sport.
If you want doco style, "the windsurfing movie" covers some history and interviews the main players.
Sure there is same for all other watersports
Best freebie I have seen is the Oxbow video "walls of perception" that somebody posted here a couple of weeks back. That had really good surfing, windsurfing and kiting (in that order of content) - but not doco style. The kiting was the best I have seen and some of the surfing just insane
