If it can't find anything at all on the web, how can I post here????

Are you still on XP?
If yes, it's reached end of life and you have been barred from the internet.
Please send in your PC for relocation to Africa.

Farkin weird I tell ya. Our 3G is down, that was the problem. Well, still is ... as I type this from work.
My modem showed signal and all the usual lights but I could not connect to any web site at all. None.
Could not encourage outlook or windows live mail to send/receive. There was obviously NO internet.

But having had seabreeze already open I reloaded pages, posted twice above, read forums, looked at forecast. After closing it of course upon trying again it wa slike everything else and I got DNS failure

Laurie must have a connection that transcends the need for the internet.

Not only browsing cached seabreeze, but he probably also had an argument with lotofwind at the same time.

Probably went 10 posts before he realised something wasn't qute right.

You may not have been on the real internet.

If you knew you how to do it, which you probably don't, you could try overriding your DNS settings to point to google at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4.
This means that names are looked up from Google's servers, which work.

I had to do this recently.

Hmmm now I am worried
I could have a proxy worm that routed my HDD to a cloud.
