I think some politician just passed some wind. i.e said something.
Might have been an announcement on the carbon POLUTION reduction scheme.
( It still didn't register anything on the Melville meter. )

About the same time this happened at mine. No flying objects, wind gusts or bumps, just went crack-crack-crack and broke.





(perhaps my neighbour peered over the fence and saw their reflection?)

That's scary
I actually got caught in it two years ago.
I was 3-4 km away from the shore when 25 knots cross shore wind changed to 20 knots offshore.
It was winter and I was the only one in the water.

I dropped the kite into water, deflate the leading edge and used the air in the struts to float me on the water and I swam back to shore.

That pattern can turn ugly.

Similar thing happen to us in Freo sailboat harbour, no wind then 35-40kn westerly with a bit of north in it for about 5mins then nothing again and it stayed like that all night? Is it a small weather system? Low pressure?
