1.- Himalayas on a Royal Enfield... I almost booked a trip June this year... good thing I didn't cos that whole region got flooded out.

2.- Antartica... I want to photograph some Emperors.

3.- This is on-hold due to injuries... but back in 2003 I learnt to sailplane glide bcos I wanted to ride "the wave" to the stratosphere... some American "bro" recently disappeared and was then found dead trying it. It involves going to ~40-60k ft. in a glider.

What's on your bucket list... if it includes playing on a glass foosball table... I *can make it happen for you.

1) Travel to every country in the world but the top few are Alaska, Antartica, siberia and greenland. I arrive in Alaska on the 22nd of September 2014!

2) Swim with a dugong. I nearly got a chance in Singa's but missed out.

3) Catch a 1000lb black or blue marlin. I've come to realise that Marlin fishing is a rich man's sport if you don't live in QLD.

4) Go to Waimea bay, pipe, sunset beach etc. I can't surf and they are just beaches with big waves but i used to have posters on my wall growing up of these places alongside ferrari F40's. Heading over in January and who know's, i might see an F40 as well

Problem with my list is that every time i'm fortunate enough to achieve something, something else arises. I guess the more you see of the world, the less you've experienced

Mexican righthand point breaks.

We've got a couple of world class right hand sand bottom rivermouth/points in West Oz but they're so fickle/sharky/hard to access that you can pretty much forget 'em. And when I say sharky I mean really, really sharky. It's hard to have fun when you can literally see big fark off noahs swimming around. And fickle? One that I'm thinking of has worked once since I started surfing in 1980 and that was courtesy of Cyclone Vance in '99.

I dream of long, warm, sand bottom rights without hundreds of knobbers.

Your GPS must need calibrating, you missed paradise by about 300km :)

For me, I'd like to walk the Bibulmum Track one of these days, spend some time in Tassie, NZ and Antarctica, and meet some more of the fine folk here on SB and have a beer and talk sh1t.

To make peace with my two idiot daughters in law. both out of the same box, namely feminist know it all's.
Can't have an actual conversation with either of them, any topic raised is challenged in the most self righteous,
arrogant, sanctimonious way. what ever happened to respect for elders.
No one is always right, but these creatures are so selfish, impractical and thoughtless than I begin to
understand why more than half of all marriages fail.
Maybe my true wish is for harmony and peace between everyone on earth.

I'm not keen on the term 'bucket list' and how it's become trendy.

Bucket list refers to dying, and I don't believe it's appropriate for healthy, young and young-ish people to use the term, yes technically we're all marching (hopefully slowly) towards death, but I see the term as saying, 'Crikey, I'm dying soon, these are the things I need to squeeze in before I kick the bucket'.

I guess it's just semantics, but I just think it's more appropriate to use the the term 'Must Do List'.

IF you are being semantic, then could you point out to MDSXR6T that whilst visiting every country on earth may be a valid list item, unfortunately none of the four mentioned are actually countries !

Alaska is a US state
Antarctica is a continent
Siberia is a state of Russia
Greenland is a colony of Denmark

Smash all those wankers who press the "walk" button a thousand times even though they have seen someone else already press it.
Oops, sorry, wrong forum!!

So you telling me that continuously pressing the button doesn't speed up the walk sign ?

Heh true, but you get what i mean. Places to visit then. But i should know better as everyday i sit in front of a block mounted 3m x 2m world map

Mind you i've met a couple of Alskan people and they introduce themselves as Alaskan rather than american. Must get a warmer reception

Hey Oceanfire, you are on the money. I prefer the term 'life list' to 'bucket list'.
For those interested, here is a fairly good guide to making one...

www.raptitude.com/2009/09/how-to-make-a-life-list-youll-actually-do-a-comprehensive-guide/

A short cut and paste from the page...

Reject the 'Bragging Rights' motivation. Eliminate any items if you're only doing them so that you can say you did. This is a list of experiences you want to have, not a legacy of reasons you should be admired. Be especially wary of goals like 'visit all 50 states.' Does it really matter if you don't set foot within all of the arbitrary political boundaries that make up the States of the Union? Isn't the point to see the landscapes and people, not to tick off boxes?

Litmus test for this one: would you still do it if you weren't allowed to tell anyone? Climb Everest? Read War and Peace? Really?

I was inspired by the following ad...

Laurie... can we change the subject title to... "Want To Do List" or "Must Do List" or "Life List"?
