Hey just looking at getting a caster board but since there are a few brands and models I was just wondering if anyone has any feedback on which board to get.
I've heard the Wave Board is a good one but can't seem to find any info on this one.
Also the Classic Ripstik would be another one I'd be interested to hear about.
Thanks

For what it's worth, my 13yo son is 6,1" and 90kg and has size 14 feet... and he rides the RipStik no probs (ie it handles his size/weight).

He's gone through about 5 rear wheels tho - but that's because he likes to carve the tight turns a lot...

FYI I saw a very good one (condition) at the Balcatta recycling centre today - prob cost you $10 if you smiled nice! It was near the sheds on the left - standing up vertically out the front. Wasn't that obvious, so might still be there...

^^^haha!

...tho' I reckon you'd do an ankle first.

I've skateboarded for over 30yrs and I just cannot get the hang of those things... a couple of Easters ago when they first came out saw a few 'dads' having a go...fkn funny to see a 40yo get the speed wobbles on a ripstick in front of mum and the kids!

I've never been on a Ripstik before. Was at the skate park with my kids and watched this other kid surf the bowl and ramps on a Ripstik. Looked fun. Managed to find a bargain today on the internet. Brand new, never used Ripstik Classic. Pick it up tomorrow arvo. Will have to post a vid of my first go. Should be a laugh

Picked up a new Ripstik off Gumtree for $30 this arvo.
Damn it's hard. But after about half an hour it was getting easier.
If you haven't tried one and you are into surfing and want a similar feel from a skateboard then you definately have to get a Ripstik.
Didn't take any video but will get something in the next few days.
IT'S FUN AS

With the combination of my worn away soles on my shoes and a lack of sufficient grip on the Ripstik I decided to put some deck grip on it.
Here is the end result. Turned a blue board into a green board

i reckon rip sticks are the best made caster boards and unlike others they don't break easily.
But on any caster boards you have got a high risk of seriously hurting yourself.
4 of my mates broke their arms on in less than 6 months.
