Oh, of course, because having a couple of CARS in every household doesn't pump out enough pollution.
D
Just read the blurb on their web site ... No threat to anything that flies for awhile.
Quote about their test plans...
"We plan to begin untethered flights when we have at least one additional M400 nearing completion. All flights will occur over a specially constructed lake. This lake is part of the Milk Farm development, a commercial 60-acre development underway near the city of Dixon in California on Interstate 80. The lake will have an area of 5 to 6 acres and will be approximately 10 feet deep with a silt, rock free bottom. Most flights will occur at less than 50 feet altitude and will incorporate flotation gear attached to the Skycar."
Got to award a 10 for design looks.
....
In the same frame - Who wants one of these???
It's a Mercedes Benz owned by an Abu Dhabi oil billionaire (naturally).
Featuring the newly developed V10 quad turbo with 1,600 horsepower and 2800nm of torque
0-100km/h in less than 2secs, 1/4 mile in 6.89secs running on biofuel.
That is NOT stainless steel. It's WHITE GOLD!!
Imagine - trying to crash into this to run off with some bits of bodywork!!
Imagine a trade in offer when you wanted something new!!
I reckon with that much wad to burn a bit more flare for originality is in order - perhaps one of the concept cars UC@ car shows.
Typical internet crap where people add their own line to the story like Chinese Whispers.
I saw it months ago where they claimed it to be white gold ... perhaps it is. Now somebody has added 1600Hp and 6.89sec 1/4 mile etc etc.
I think they need to watch a 7 sec pass on the 1/4 mile in person and have a look at the cars that do it to realise a car with those tyres and suspension simply can't do it (not enough traction as Nebbs says, and not enough squat. You need a ladder bar rear end that will squat down big time, tubs, and major drag slicks to get anything under about 10sec). Anything that runs under `10sec doesn't go around corners too well.
Further how much would a white gold bodyshell weigh? If you need 1600hp in a Commodore to get a 6 - 8 sec run (very rough numbers) how much HP do you need when you add 200kg of gold to the damn thing?
Cisco......natural progression would bbe to remove the 4 engines and their structure, its already on three wheels, add a mast and sail...now ya got something![]()

And its so shiny you could only drive it in moonlight without beng blinded![]()
topgear had one of those mercs that had got the twin turbo thing. As you could get the wheels to grp in a straight line they had to tune it down just to go around a corner, and tht was at about 750hp. when the stig did a lap it was shockingly slow
Re this:-
I think most people are missing the point. If you take the trouble to read and view what is at www.moller.com you may come to realise what an intelligent concept the "Moller Sky Car" is.
The vehicle itself is functional ie it does most of what it is designed to do. It is a "STOL" (short take off landing) vehicle, about a cricket pitch (22 yards or one chain) and is capable of flying at 300 kmh.
It is not fulfilling it's primary design function. That function is the elimination of the spending of billions of dollars on mega motor ways by substituting them with "electronic/virtual highways in the sky".
I seem to remember a movie in which Bruce Willis drove a "Sky Taxi". The only problem with that is letting a human drive it.
Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.
Why is the "Moller Sky Car" not fulfilling it's primary design function? Because vested interests in motor cars and motorways wield political influence over the authorities that could legitimise use of the "Moller Sky Car".
If the "Moller Sky Car" was put into mass production, it could be retail sold for about $60,000 per unit. Worth thinking about!!!
