I work for free every day and have the sh!ts with it. This morning I went in at 3.30am though I'm supposed to start work at 8am. I was in there for about an hour doing some stuff and went back home for a couple more hours sleep. That was after working till 6pm yesterday though I'm paid to work till 4pm.
So almost every day I seem to be working two hours for nothing. Its not like I'm on an especially high salary to begin with nor is my employer short of a dollar either.
I'm so bloody over it.
I used to leave on time on the dot but work is piling up. What to do? Today I left on time. I don't give sh!t anymore. I'll do my eight hours and go home.
Not exactly on topic but here is my to reflexion on stupidity of times zones ![]()
If there is 1 A.M in London shouldn't be say 4 P.M here or there.
Where is stated that work must starts at 8 AM not 4 PM (new time) ?
One world - One time for ALL

I work in a Sydney private school in their IT department. It's a big school and we have over 100 servers, most virtualized and a couple of thousand computers out and about. So bloody busy. Right now I've have over 40 tickets. Basically I've spent the last three days cleaning up after someone else's miscalculations. As a result no other work has been done. The tickets have been piling up. So glad it's the weekend.
The two weeks prior to this have been spent trying to work around huge deficiencies in our infrastructure.
The best hours for work are,
7 AM till 18 knots.![]()
Most employers dont understand or agree to my working conditions![]()
Hamsta knows what he's talking about, if you are exactly what they want then no worries you'll get a job. But if your not???
Better bend over, and then be told your not suitable!!
Place where I work in mining has been raided by the Gorgon HR Headhunters for the past year , they've gone after people in HR , IT , OHS , Sparkies , Fitters , Planners,
The nurse bit I mentioned is Occupational Nurses.
That lot is JUST Gorgon ... there is another waiting in the wings.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion though![]()
I don't understand all those people working more than their time and claiming they "have" to do it. And sometimes complaining about it.
So what, the work will pile-up. In the very large majority of cases, the employer will not fire you for not doing more than paid for.
Anyways, you're usually surrounded by people that put their 8-4 and just go home and get similar reviews and raises. The distance between you and the carrot is usually the same regardless of extra effort...
For the next 2 months I'll work more than 60 hours week and get paid for 37.50...
Any one know wanna guess who I work for?
