Stupid farrkin Microsoft ......I had a msg pop up saying I had to update Messenger or else I would not be able to use it anymore. I did so..... 12hrs when it is 60meg on slow internet.... but anyway.... once updated it has lost all my contacts. They still exist on windows live / hotmail but i can't use Messenger. Must be a common problem as Googling shows various forum questions regarding it, but no answers just yet.

Anyone?

(OH yeah.. part two. I thought I'd try to import contacts from my files on C: program files/messenger etc. But after after a few successful logins to Messenger (with no chatting of course) now I can't even log in. It says "your contacts are unavailable". Well farrrk me, let me log in so I can try to import them but noooooo that would make sense)
God I hate computers, and american retard Microsoft ppl who think everyone must have broadband and a 2month old whizz-bang PC, and forced updates which I in fact did NOT need as the old Messenger is still working for other ppl. Faarrrkk

(btw I have to get it going asap... important chat meeting being delayed, not just that i wanna talk to my frens and say 'lol' and 'like soooo annoyed' a lot) )

I've used restore once, after updating my graphics driver, and finding it corrupted the system...tried everything, but after using the system restore...put it back to how it was before, no info lost either!

The new patch or update created more problems than it fixed.

mabe it is some help. This will clarfy either one of two things...'
1) The new msn looks for you computer filepath to link contacts
2)or the contacts stored on your msn, are stored in msn server.

im under the impression when you log in your contacts are stored on a msn server thuss allowing you to bring your msn up on a friends computer...

Sometimes on msn especially with live messaging contacts can be lost due to different versions i.e someone is on yahoo msn .. insted of say windows live msn.
im pretty sure your contact should still be there.
Try using a program called

amsn
www.amsn-project.net/
Untill the new msn patch becomes stable enough install.

This programme is good if your contacts have different version and for the mean time.

I'd be getting myself skype and dump that shiza - msn is so passe.

Another app you could use which should pull down your msn contacts is digsby and it can also link into your facebook chat

MSN Messenger or Windows Live Messenger or Windows Messenger....?

Yes, really. Microsoft has too many competing projects.
