My neighbour is trying to tell me that sun dried tomatoes that you buy from Woolies, you know the ones drowned in oil, are good or you???
Surely something that oily has to be bad for you.
Any nutritionists here? You will help me win a six pack![]()
Depends what you compare them to.
If on one hand you have the KFC man burger with 80grams of fat then yes they are as healthy as fresh spinach.
robyn shuter in sydney is by far the best and most grounded nutritionist and naturopath ive ever met, and is one of the smartest people ive known. pm me if you want her details.
gotta say though, as long as the oil has not been heated and the tomatoes are sun dried and not chemically treated, they would be pretty good for you.
Real men drink oil for breakfast and enjoy a beer instead of a latte. There is no such thing as a sun dried tomato, just one a few days old. Maybe they are just trying to flavour crap tasting oil.
enjoy it while you can
Judging by your avatar pic^^^^ you enjoy drinking oil for breakie,,enjoy your heart attack at 40![]()

But I have gone off them as they come with crunchy bits![]()

The oil is just a preserving agent to keep the air out. According to my wog mate they use it like we use glad wrap.
if they use olive oil it is very health with lots of Omega 3 and antioxidants and stuff.
If it is some other oil and loaded with preservatives and stuff then it is not so healthy.
spot on mate, it is to keepa oura fooda safe to eat. ![]()
^^^^
It's usually el-cheapo canola oil, usually with a few herbs and spices added for flavour. If it's the Woolies own brand stuff then all the ingredients will be the cheapest stuff they can get their hands on because it's made to a price, not a quality.
