Just watching some items on ebay and I still can't work out why people have bidding wars days before the auction ends.
I can't see the point of driving up the price if you are trying win the item.
Mind you isn't this what the seller of the item wants to get maxium price.
I put a bid of what I'm prepared to go to early, then don't look until the auction has ended.
Upside - won a few pretty good things with 1 bid!
Downside is, missed out on a few things by only dollars, but didn't worry me too much.
...at my age, I just don't need the excitement!![]()
I scored a brand new Na pappa short board 6,4 with a tail pad and fins $280.00, the guy,s girlfriend had bought it for him but he wanted something bigger , the board was still in packaging when i collected it . My young bloke will get it when he,s ready to upgrade ![]()

you are always better of not biding right untill the last few seconds, then throwing down your max bid. that way the other bidders don't get the chance to force up your bid. still a gamble if you will win but defenetly a smarter move.
I leave it till the last seconds, I'm sure half the time it's the seller bidding against you with a different name, I even know someone who has done this from their fathers computor
