If we were not meant to eat cows ... then why did god make them out of steak?

For a perfect homage to our dear departed bovine cousins.

Go to Black Rock butcher and buy one of their Awesome (tm) Steaks. Ultra-thick cut fillet.

Sear it both sides for 3-4 minutes a side.

Rest it for 10-15 minutes in the oven at about 100 degrees.

Eat with accompaniments of your choice.

I love them, I have read recently tho that my fave has a lot of mercury in them.
So by my reasoning I will end up looking like the bad terminator in T2
Best with a nice white wine if you are keen beer batter the fillets

Thai food: Penang beef, Massaman or green chicken curry, made from scratch (much easier than you'd think) and Chicken larb. Man I larb the larb!!
BTW, the Royal Sushi in E Perf do a smokin Rendang Beef (from scratch) and it is a knock out (unlike some other choices there). Deluxe for take away. Wish I liked red meat more often sometimes.

Boef Borgionone (sp) cooked at least a day ahead.

Fish, fried, steamed, poached, anything as long as it aint wriggling (ey Bear?)

Really good beer batter chippies or just good chips full stop. It's the part POM in me.

Homemade pizzas. Chorizo, fetta, roast capsicum, olives, cheese, finely chopped anchovies in the sauce and a tiny dash of BBQ sauce in there too. MMmmmm. Too lazy to make the base but should tho.

Vegie stir fry.

Man my tummy is grumbling after that!

Get yourself a bread maker. Chuck the mixings in and press the "Dough" button. Come back 90 minutes later. Roll it out. Home made pizza base.

My missus won't eat shop bought pizza anymore.

200 gm flour
1/2 cup tepid water
1 tablespoon dried yeast
good pinch salt
good splodge olive oil

Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees.
Put a rack on the top shelf and a pizza stone on the next shelf down.
Roll the dough on baking paper.
Slide the dough and the baking paper onto a baking tray.
Assemble the pizza topping.
Pop it into the oven on the top shelf for 5-6 minutes.
Take out the pizza stone and put it on the sink.
Slide the partially cooked pizza onto the stone.
Return to the oven and cook until ready (7-10 minutes).
Perfect pizza.

Our favourite topping:
Tomato paste and crushed garlic (applied with a silicone pastry brush)
Thinly sliced mushrooms (they cook down to nothing and they're good bulk and healthy)
Thinly sliced pumpkin
Loads of hot salami
Chunks of fetta
Peas (or diced asparagus or broccoli)
Olives or Tapenade
Mozzarella

Stopped using the BM for a cpl o yrs.
Gave away the BM.

This is soooo wrong. How could you ever go to McDonalds again knowing that the burgers come out of some chick's arse. No wonder you have to wait so long when they're busy.

Anybody got a picture of where the fillet o' fish comes from?

Poissant cru, (raw fish) consisting of straight out of the ocean Dorado (dolphin fish), filleted and strip cut, then layered in a dish with onion and other such culinary accoutrements as the individual desires, then covered with dark vinegar for a minimum of half an hour before eating. Better if left overnight. YYYuuuummm.
