listening to the radio today ,a disscussion about research involving id twins.
any out in breeze land ?
what are your differences in likes / dislikes , behavior ect?
i once dated a twin.
her....from (sister/ brother twin).
they used to share the same dreams sometimes.
interesting Nasi .
not exactly identical tho if one was boy and one was girl.
however, to dream the same is extreamly fantastic!!!
Have identical 7 y.o. twin monkeys boys. Very hard to tell apart after they've had a bath as slight hair difference is impossible to distinguish when wet. Apart from looks, personalities are somewhat different although they are very close emotionally. Have the same interests and are at similar developmental levels at school.
We've been very conscious to treat them as individuals (which they are) although outsiders tend to identify them as one entity (human nature I suppose). They aren't in the same class as I feel they can develop independently of each other which is working really well. There's been a lot of studies on this and what works for one set of twins is not necessarily right for another.
Behaviour is a different matter altogether - one is very head strong (Mum says just like his dad
) and isn't quite as obliging, whereas the other is generally very obedient and will help out wherever asked.
I envy them as they will (hopefully) be incredibly close confidantes / mates for life - much closer than I think normal siblings can be anyway.
PS - I discovered here recently that our favourite Seabreeze identity, Flipper 4444 are actually twins. Hence the somewhat very Jeckle and Hyde nature of their posts. It all makes sense now

I went to primary school with identical twins; we called one twinnie and the other one twinnie as well.
I'm a twin.
We're not identical (me boy, she girl).
We don't have similar personalities but we share similar sporting interests.
We've had that thing where the other feels pain of the other injured tiwn.
I was invloved in a cycling accident (hit by a car). Without knowing of the accident, she came home with a painfull elbow. I had crushed my elbow
We're both close and like best freinds but there is a flipside. When we were kids our fights were HUGE!
I good freind on mine is an identical twin and he hates his brother. They never see eachother, not sure what happened there.
I find twins amazing and I am learning alot about them at the moment as Mrs K and I are expecting twins late July . They will not be identical.
I am realy excited but also preparing for tough times ahead , in more than one area of life. Saying that though I dont have any other kids (that I know of) but am looking forward to being a Dad.
If you dont mind me asking-
Do unidentical twins have these "connections" you guys mention as well?
Sausage - Any advice for a first time Dad expecting twins mate? What worked , what did'nt?
I was born an identical twin but the other fella only survived for an hour.
Don't bother asking me any phsycobabble about it cause I know no different, except that I repeat myself alot.
But I am curious when I meet identical twins,I mean imagine living your life as two people.
I have known several sets of identical twins over the years and the one thing that strikes me is how hurtful and spiteful they can get.
One pair I know have not talked for over 20 years and forbid their parents to mention the other to them.
While a pair of farmer twins I know have been in and out of court for ten years
smashing each other over an inheritance. One now refers to the other as that
C*** that used to be my brother.
A pair that I played footy with used to fight because one was a dirty player and the other side used to get them mixed up when it came to evening the score.
Even our side thought that was funny.
I went to school with 3 sets of identical twins, one 'set' of identical twins were good at sports, one twin better than the other, also a bit 'cooler' & used to get all the girls, whilst the other was more academic.
Another pair, which were bullies lasted 2 weeks before getting expelled. They had a habit of one twin grabbing a weak kid, dragging him behind the gym whilst the other punched the kid unconscious - for fun! The first 'incident' was when they were in grade 6 with a yr8 kid on orientation day. Don't know where they ended up, called them Heckyl & Jeckyl. They were freaky and if you saw them coming (always together, stalking their next victim), you'd walk in the opposite direction.
The 3rd set grew up on the wrong side of the tracks & never really recovered, I think one of them is still in jail.
Our local footy club has a local identity that's an identical twin - 65y/o ish, both farmers. The one I know has a pretty bad stutter, and I've been caught out a few times saying 'g'day Max' to the wrong one. I usually get a blank expression in return, or a calm 'g'day mate' back which lets me know that it's not Max!
I also know a couple of 'pairs' of non-identical twins (brother/sister combo), they are all great natured and are very close.
^^^^
OK, if you wanna get technical then strickly speaking, there are 3 sets of twins there. ![]()
And no, I didn't notice that bit of detail. Time to get my glasses checked. ![]()
EDIT: Just to stay on topic... I did go to school with identical twins (boys). Can't add much to the discussion except that (i) it was bloomin' hard to pick the difference and (ii) one seemed a bit more outgoing than the other. But the stories posted here about them getting to hate one another I can understand. Some of them must find it very hard to get their identity through to people to the point where they begin to resent their twin.
Thanks for the reply Sausage , and congrats on ur latest edition
.
Yeah , Its going to be rather full on for the first few months...Thats for sure.
We have both been discussing alot about how we think things will go and try to get a plan in place. Saying that though, I bet it will be nothing like I imagine it to be and we'll just take it one day at a time.
We have started buying as many baby accessories now while we're both still working. One thing I worked out today though is that pretty soon my weekly nappy bill will double the amount of $$$ I spend on beer a week , and I bet that will be the least of my worries soon. The inlaws will be lol

Thanks for the positive reply mate......Let it begin
