in canberra australia we have lake burley griffin

in canberra it is possible to use our lake for all water sports and first timers on a wind surfer can hire one and when you cant get back the operater gives you a paddle to get back ,,i do hangliding so i can under stand the idea of wind surfing but i need more practice ..

how long did it take u to learn to "fly" after you learnt to use footstraps and harness?

Got a starboard starsurfer and ezzy kids rig for my 7th birthday-best present and kids toy ever.

Started planing after 3 months,mastered footstraps and harness and first jumps at 9 months and cracked the waterstart and gybe before I turned 8,now 8 1/2

windsurfing does'nt take long to learn,the equipment is far better than it once was.

I use to Live in Canberra from 1998 till 2000.

I will never forget the feeling of blasting on a slalom board in 25 knots and pelting down snow in 1999

or

The regaining of feeling in my feet and the duck shyte between my toes as i walked my gear back to the car!!!

apart from that it was good and a great learners area!!!
