Does anyone know of a simple & inexpensive iPhone / smartphone app for tracking multiple targets…??? (ie: yachts in a fleet).

“GPS Tracker” by Instamapper is ideal, but will only track one target. The idea is to have a public website that uses Google maps to display all the vessels in the fleet during the race. Normal phone coverage will do for most races up to 10 or 20nm offshore.

I've looked at a few others such as Endemo, “Cell Phone GPS Tracker”, “GPS Vehicle Tracker”, but they are either not suitable, only do one target, or just don't work……. Wasted another $1.19 of my kids iTunes vouchers

There are specialised systems around, such as that developed by the CYCA or the “yellowbrick” system, but these have significant cost involved. Considering almost every yacht already has a tracker (iphone / smart phone), how hard can it be….?????

Many thanks!!

Thx Galah.

I've had that on my phone for years, but never figured it out. It works very well for tracking an individual. However, I can't get it to broadcast multiple targets (eg: yacht fleeet) to a google maps website for public viewing. You can watch a fleet if you have the app on your iphone, and watch it on the selected channel. It can also broadcast to facebook, but I have not been able to get this to work.

I'll keep playing with it for a bit.....

Just ask apple.
Steve and his cronies have been collating all the GPS data off your phone since you bought it.
I'm sure they could provide you a live feed from their servers!
