That's what I just read on the ABC news website in regard to a protest today www.abc.net.au/news/2012-01-26/gillard-27fine27-after-riot-rescue/3795354?WT.svl=news0
persoanllay I think not ,this was a dark day in Australia (politics aside) that the PM is rushed out and protected in such a way. I am sure that the protesters were fealing very passionate about their cause but this is a terrible look and I for one was extremely dissapointed and disturbed to see the footage of our PM being hustled .I reckon that the PM was a really good sport about it when interviewed later and that the cops wheNinterviewed later had a n intersting reponse .

We as taxpayers employ security to look after our P.M.'s. Not a case of whether she is a coward, rather did the security do their job well.

well I guess if you attack this PM in the way she has been from the start then this sort of thing isn't really unexpected. All that hate coming from the shock jocks and the dumb papers make for a climate where that crap is almost "fair"

Don't reckon so, neither is the Mad Monk, who was also bundled into same car by security team.
Media generated crowd frenzy, by telling tent city activates something the mad monk, ol flappa said he didn't like, when questioned about tent city .
Got a good news day story out of it, so a few media hounds will be patting one and other on the back tonight

Lie? Her response to her security team was to ask about Abbott's safety and tell them to get him out as well.

If it was me, I'd have probably told them to kneecap the prick so he couldn't escape the protesters.

On Thursday morning, Mr Abbott said Aboriginal people could be very proud of their achievements since the tent embassy was first established but that it was probably time to move on.

"I think the Indigenous people of Australia can be very proud of the respect in which they are held by every Australian," he said.

"I think a lot has changed since then and I think it probably is time to move on from that."

It would not have mattered what he or Gillard said. The "protesters" were full of hate and wound up for a stousch and you are just as bad soggy.

How dare Abbott suggest progress, or moving on. That won't help anyone will it, especially the thousands who live off keeping us living in the past.
Not a fan of either Gillard or Abbott however i think it's disgusting that this rabble think they have the right to corner the leaders of this country at an official function will get off scot free. Unfortunately I noticed only about half of the protesters were Indigenous, the rest were the professional "rent a protester". Interesting also that Indigenous leaders are also condemning the riot.

we have a lot of bright minds in australia.

A lot of sucessful businesses and inventions

A decent way of life and living

What have aboriginals contributed to this?

They take from the government and then always cry foul that their hard done by.. When will they evolve and make something of themselves and stop playing the 'were discriminated' card.

politicians arent allowed to say the truth, otherwise the "racist" card would be played and they would be out of a job

I reckon Gillard was in no threat of harm at all. For Gillard to get accosted by a protester they would have had to fight through dozens of the media first. Media are mostly scum and love stirring up ** for a story

A stousch which Abbott gave them a trigger for. The idiot.

So yes, my opinion - and one I'm not ashamed of - is that Abbott is a dick on legs.

**** oath shes not really a coward, her security team decided it was time to get her out of there, the resturant where they where is 360 degree glass allthe way around, probably not the most secure place, if the protesters where anyone else apart from the aboriginals they would've been arested, if it was any other countries pm's security detail they probably would've cracked some skulls or at least knee caps so they should figure them selves lucky if you ask me

you are contributing everyday also. You personally leave a footprint in your very existence. Rubbish, water consumption, driving your car, eating food and energy for your house.

Get off your high horse and stop moaning.

We all consume.

200 years ago the whole world was different. people were planting and harvesting crops and living in housing etc.........not the aboriginal who walked here overland out of Africa.........they were still pinching each others women and eating the men folk.... they still fight very tribaly amongst families. If they joined Australia they would be much better of than what they are now arcelogical prisioners of their own desire and making

She was born ginger and Welsh

She became the first female Australian Prime Minister

She desposed the most popular Prime Minister Australia has ever had, after just 2 years in office, with a back office coup

Call her what you want but, I guarantee you she ain't no coward.

I got here 11 years ago. Not sure it was all in pristine condition.

40,000 years ago it was majority eucalypt forest

After burning for 40,000 years it is now majority spinifex savanna

Australia was not in pristine condition. The Aborigines burnt the hell out of here and turn what was a green and forested land into a desert continent.

Every time you start a fire you release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
