Well i suppose i should wonder why. I was under the impression that one could
discuss things in a general way in these forums. Seems I was wrong, if I have done the wrong thing , then I must apologize, to those I offended. Or was it not me who annoyed the powers that be. I am reminded to younger school days, when corporal punishment was dealt out to the inquisitive, as it was not wanted to think outside the envelope.

yes how dare you think for yourself or question anything or ask others to question for a concensus opinion.

don't you know TPTB have your best interests as their highest concern...?

how dare any of us even consider questioning the motives behind current events..

quick everybody, lets turn on our television sets and then go buy us some more technological plastic somethings to fill the void created by our shallow meaningless lives....

... quick before some dirty refugee tries to do us out of our bit or we all get the cancer

^^^ What he said.

It's not that we don't have opinions on the matter, or think it's not worth discussing, but there's plenty of other places you can talk about politics. As explained in the forum rules, moderation is a grey area and every decision is different. Moderators don't even always agree on how to moderate the same thread.

The main thing is that we try and keep this place within a certain theme. A certain spirit, if you will. I often think of it along the lines of the old saying: there's the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. The spirit/theme we're trying to keep things to here is either windsport/watersport/beach theme, or in the case of 'general' discussion, keeping it lighthearted and fun. Having read plenty of political discussions over the years, it very rarely ends well when you start by commenting about government policy, whether or not you agree with it.

We don't want to muzzle free speech or deny anyone's rights, we just want to keep Seabreeze within its own theme.
