used 30 inch lines for first time today.
have been using 26 inch lines for last 6months, 24 inch before that.
20 knots plus and 5.0m.
i felt like i was a beginner again.
by far the biggest problem was i felt like i was going sideways, the board would not lift anyway near like with the 26 inch lines.a horrible feel. 2 hours of sailing and feel of going sideways with little board lift still there.
i anticipated having tired arms which usually happens when first changing to longer lines. this did happen despite powering up harness to max.
the sideways feel was similiar to using a 25cm fin on a 100 litre board.
anyone want a pair of 30 inch lines halfprice for $15
Boom Upppp Pete, that'l fix it.
But with a 5m sail, you must weight <65kg's useing a 5m in tonights breeze![]()
Gawd, Now I know how weird and technical kite talk sounds to a non kiter.

^^^^^^thanks for clearing that up....i didn`t see kite mentioned![]()
Ha ha ha ha.. I am saying poley talk sounds exotic and strange - like kite talk must to the ignorant unwashed. ![]()
I'm still tempted by 2 inches for a dollar! Then I'll probably just want another dollar though ![]()
haveing fixed harness lines might make it imposible to hook into your harness if your boom is set in corect position ? .. mabey he switched from a back to a seat harness?longer lines mean u can get your body flater and more righting movemnt?
all sugestions corect me please...
the pluses i found with longer lines were deep downwind i felt more in control, maybe able to sail a bit deeper.
in lulls a little more power.
upwind was appalling, around 6 reaches on each side to get back to l/bay from pelican pt. usually around three.
the feel was by far the worst thing. i do use very high hook,so pull with long lines was more lateral than downwards.
have swapped back to my old 26 inch lines and can now enjoy sailing again.
