tuning in TV

Got a set top box, tuned in on TV and get all channels except the 7's and NBN, anyone know why that would be ?? Grrrrand final tomorrow and no channel nine !!!Thanks for any advice

Usually this would mean that those channels are on frequencies for which you have poor gain from your antenna.

Here in Sydney you can sometimes find you can pick up SBS and nothing else depending on what antenna you are using.

Some set top boxes are more sensitive than others. Try another one. Some of them are really bad.

My advice, go to DSE and buy something under their satisfaction guarantee. Take it back if it doesn't work, and possibly buy a few and compare.

Yeah its possible your antenna isn't tuned for those digital stations. We had big trouble getting the ABC channels. A new antenna was installed. Still the reception was poor with the picture and signal breaking up, which is extremely annoying with a digital channel. The signal was worse when it rained.

To help I bought an inline TV rabbit ear thingo antenna from Dick Smith with some sort of booster. It helped a bit but not much. I could position the aerials.

So we had a proper booster box put in and that has improved the reception immensely.
