hi just wondering if anyone can help im looking at a wetties for Melbourne winter
have been looking at dawn patrol, e-bomb, f-bomb and is the fireskin the same as the f-bomb??
thanks
Just ensure that it has heaps of fireskin (furry stuff) inside. That stuff if you put on wet, it isnt as painfull.
I get by with a 3-2 ultimate e bomb + thermal rashie + Booties and occasionally a wetsuit beanie thingo. Still get bloody cold. Thinking of getting a 4-3 f bomb though.
I prefer Rip curl, they seem to have the best neoprene, are well made and will repair for free if something goes wrong.
ION strike 4/3 - designed for windsurfing & kiting. Semidry suit, strap around ankles to stop balloon leg, crash pads, moulded/shaped arms to reduce arm pump and good range of movement. Combined with a wettie beanie you'll be warm as. RPS has them.
Just got a ONeil PsychoFreak. Awesome suit. Very warm and very little water ingress. I will definitely be surfing all winter. Only negative is that it takes a little more effort to get on and off. Got an awesome deal at Tonik in Barwon Heads.
Ripcurl E-Bomb 4/3....I found the F-Bomb to stiff through the shoulder area....they have heaps at the shop on Baines crescent for around the $ 300 mark.....
Another e-bomb fan, went from a 3/2 last few years (and got by through the coldest conditions - sleet, hail, storms etc.) to a 4/3 this year (a bit older...softer).
In saying that, the 4/3 e-bomb is great for w/surfing, and I expect surfing, but way too warm for suping, even on freezing days, the 3/2 gets hauled out for suping!
[edit] if black's not your colour, there are some nice ones here-

i just got a 5/3 ebomb and its sooo warm and toasty and still nice and flexible.i am very happy with it. went out on tuesday just after the hail storm and the temp gauge in my mates car said 6 degrees !!!, at 2 in the arve!!! in australia!!! 300bucks brand new on e bay laughing.
ONeil guru spring suit. Perfect for winter in Qld. Get a tight fit for little water egress. I have one chosen from the size chart and is perfect.
From a windsurfing thread it seems that Neil Pryde suits are good. I have a West Suits 3/2 and to be honest it's no good. Water gets into it through the zip and panels. It doesn't keep you warm on cold days. So funds permitting I'm getting a Pryde wetsuit. I wish they came in interesting colours like yellow and purple.
World's best winter kiting/windsurfingwettie here, brand new . If it's your size (large-tall), you can't go wrong. Still got its labels attached (I bought the wrong size in error). Absolute bargain, less than wholesale price

Sorry for the pimping
