Hi all,
Last sunday, after a beautiful day on botany the zippers of my prolimit session bag were not working.
Both sides of the zippers are opened all the time. The bag is only 4 months old !

Do you guys have an idea to fix that ?

If the problem is due to salt build up then have a read through this thread on Zip care....it will give you a lot of ideas.

Personally I would give it a good spray of WD40 and let it sit for a while.

I got two zippers fixed up by the guys at Baracouta sails recently.

It was pretty cheap to replace the slide on one bag , and to have the entire zip replaced on the other.

It's a worry though that your bag is only 4 months old and the zippers are stuffed.

If the problem is due to salt

No, there is no salt at all on the zipper, it's not jam. Both zippers are sliding right, it's just that the zippers are opened on both side of the ruler...
It's a shame that a 4months old bag need a zip replacement is there any kind of warranty on such bags ?

If it does not have a warranty you could try taking it to a seamstress person who may be able to open the stitching up and thread the zip back together for around $10-15?

I am no sewing etc expert, but I thought when you move the slider and the zip doesn't close it means it si worn out. Usually takes a long timke for that to happen.

Therefore, they have used a low quality (or defective batch) of zippers if it wore out in 4 months?

I'd be taking it back for refund / exchange regardless of warranty - Sale of goods Act, item was of unmerchantable quality at the point of sale .... proven by the fact that zips on bags for watersports don't wear out in 4 months.
